Estimating Human Movement Using Accelerometers
Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury in Judo
Meško, Mikuláš ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Holá, Veronika (referee)
Title: Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury in Judo Objectives: Based on current scientific knowledge, describe and summarize aspects of knee injuries in judo, specifically the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Get an overview of the causes of this injury, frequency of occurrence and possible impact on quality of life. Methods: Narrative review Results: The anterior cruciate ligament is a very important stabilizer of the knee joint, and its injury causes not only long absences in training but even the complete termination of a sports career. Furthermore, it has been found that motor functions can be restored after an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament, but kinesthesia (the sense of movement and perception of movement by stimulation of receptors in muscles and tendons) can be permanently impaired. The impact of this injury is also an increase in the risk of osteoporosis in the knee joint in younger people. Anterior cruciate ligament injuries affect more women than men, and the most commonly performed techniques in which this injury occurs are osoto-gari and kosoto-gari. Caliskaner, Umit ; Hojková, Klára (advisor) ; Puchmeltrová, Martina (referee)
Title: A Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of Closed Patella Fracture Thesis Aim: This thesis involves a case study on physiotherapeutic approach to a 35 year old male with closed patella fracture, 8 weeks after incident. This case study was conducted in the month of January of 2012 at Ústřední Vojenská Nemocnice under the supervision of physiotherapist Martina Puchmertlova. Materials used during this study include treatment table, measurement tape, neurological hammer, goniometer, overball, various sized pillows, and balance boards of different shape. The theoretical part aims to explain anatomical structure, biomechanics, kinesiology and etiology of this type of fractures. While the practical part refers to the case study; the examinations used and the effectiveness of the therapy with the approaches used. Methods: The therapy started with initial kinesiological examination. Along with the therapeutic methods taught at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, the chosen procedures included: post isometric relaxation and stretching by Lewit, soft tissues techniques by Lewit, sensomotoric training and mobilization by Lewit. Lastly final kinesiological examination was conducted. To enhance the effects of the therapy, the patient has been in addition required to perform home therapies as...
Case of study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Pacient after the Reconstruction of Ligamentum Cruciatum Anterius
Sábelová, Michaela ; Novotná, Irena (advisor) ; Reckziegelová, Petra (referee)
This work consists of two parts, general and special. On the special one was focused more attention. In the general part we can learn basic information about anatomy, biomechanics and kinesiology of the knee. There is described the mechanism of injury of a soft knee, methods of examination and diagnosis, treatment of LCA rupture with conservative and surgical treatment and rehabilitation before and after a surgery. The special part gives a detailed description of the case of study of a patient after ACL rupture. The study has been made during the continuous professional experience, which I undertook at the end of January and February in the Regional Hospital Kladno.
The issue of an ACL injury in football players
Kovář, Miroslav ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hráský, Pavel (referee)
Title: The issue of an injury in football players Processed by: Miroslav Kovář Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D., MBA. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to collect and process knowledge from professional and scientific articles or publications dealing with the issue with the help of literary research and to create a clear study on the issue of ACL injuries in football players based on the information obtained. Methods: In order to collect data for the creation of a study dealing with the issue of ACL injuries in football, a literature search was created containing professional articles, studies and final theses of Czech, but especially foreign literature. Results: The thesis is based on the research and the opinions of valid sources and its perception on the issue of ACL injuries in football. Within this search, 118 sources were studied, of which 21 Czech and 97 foreign literature. The final thesis showed that the ACL injury is the most common as well as the most complicated injury of the knee joint in football. This type of injury usually occurs on non-contact plays. The most significant limitations are age, anatomical and biomechanical properties, types of playing activities, previous ACL injuries or sex. Studies show that women have higher risk of ACL injuries. In terms of...
Evaluation and setting of standards of conventional ratio of flexors and extensors of knee of young athletes
Ižovská, Jana ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Džupa, Valér (referee)
Title: Evaluation and determination of standard ratio of extensors and flexors of the knee in sporting youth. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to establish the standards of the force ratio H: Q for the youth football categories U16, U17, U18, U19, U21 and adult players of the Czech Republic and based on the prescription type of study to establish a percentage critical disbalance of dynamic knee stabilizers which may be the most common cause of injuries to dynamic or static knee joint stabilizers in soccer players. Methods: The monitored group of players consisted of football players playing in elite Czech football clubs, both in youth and senior categories, who meet the predetermined selection criteria. The isokinetic strength parameters were monitored using a Cybex Humac Norm isokinetic dynamometer (Cybex NORM ®, Humac, CA, USA). We investigated maximum strength moment (PT) of extensors and knee flexors of dominant and non-dominant limb at concentric contraction at angular velocities of 60, 180 and 300ř.s-1 . Then we watched the players wounded. If the injury occurred, then we looked back at its strength characteristics and the strength ratio between the extensors and flexors of the knees and whether it was possible to predict the injury and determine the critical level that indicates the...
